CBS.Nick Saban sure knows how to make people mad online, particularly Auburn fans.If you follow college football, you know that Alabama – Tennessee is one of the biggest rivalries in the game. You also know that the Iron Bowl, when the Crimson Tide and Auburn battle every year, is also a massive rivalry game, perhaps a bigger one in the minds of many. Nick Saban, however, gave us an inside secret about the rivalries on Thursday night.Saban joined “Hey, Coach!” which is a weekly radio show in Tuscaloosa, Ala. and made quite the statement: The Tennessee game, not the Auburn game, is bigger for Alabama’s players.Nick Saban said the Tennessee game is the biggest game to the players. Said that’s no disrespect to the Iron Bowl.— Aaron Suttles (@AaronSuttles) September 30, 2016This is obviously a bit surprising, considering the fact that the Iron Bowl of course features in-state rivals. The Crimson Tide and the Tigers have met 80 times with Alabama controlling the all-time record 44-35-1.Tennessee and Bama however have met 98 times total dating back to the 1901 season. The Crimson Tide also hold the most wins in that series with a 52-38-7 mark against the Vols.Alabama and Tennessee square off on the third Saturday in October on October 15.
