Former standout running back Ron Johnson passed away this week after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease.Johnson was 71-years-old. He became the first African American to be named a Michigan captain when he was selected by his teammates ahead of the 1968 season.During the 1968 season, Johnson racked up 1,391 yards and 19 touchdowns on the ground and still holds a Michigan record for touchdowns in a season. Vadodara: Seven persons, including four sanitation workers, died due to asphyxiation on Saturday while cleaning sewer of a hotel in Gujarat’s Vadodara district, officials said. The incident happened at a hotel in Fartikui village in Dabhoi tehsil, about 30 km from Vadodara city. Three employees of the hotel were also among those killed. “When one sanitation worker failed to come out of the manhole, others went inside. All of them died due to asphyxiation,” district collector Kiran Zaveri told PTI.
SG Flensburg confirmed that one of their most perspective players will be moving to HSV Hamburg. Petar Djordjic, who has suffered a heavy injury this season which will keep him out for about 6 months will be moving to Hamburg at the end of the season. The 22-year old Serbian international has signed a four-year deal with HSV, to expire on 30th June 2017.In 2012 he won the EHF Cup and finished 2nd in the Bundesliga behind THW Kiel. He joined SG Flensburg on 1st February 2010 from HSG Wetzlar.
