B&H ice skaters Tarik Omeragić, Samra Selimbegović and Nihad Bašić have scored great results in the short track speed skating competition at the ” Slovak Open” of the Danubia Cup series in the Slovak Republic.Although he was disqualified twice, Omeragic from the D category, achieved to take the second place and to stay on the second place in the final ranking list of the Danubia Cup series. Another D category contestant, Samra Selimbegović, won the fourth place. In the final ranking list, Selimbegović remained on the seventh place.Nihad Bašić competed in the A category and took the 16th place for his race on 500 meters.This competition welcomed 233 contestants from 16 countries of Eastern and Middle Europe.
CHARLES CITY — A Waterloo woman arrested in Charles City for assault while displaying a dangerous weapon has been sentenced to probation.32-year-old Amanda Kellogg was arrested on February 13th after a fight was reported in the 700 block of 11th Street. Kellogg was accused of threatening a man, assaulting him, and then showing a knife.Kellogg entered into a plea agreement with prosecutors, pleading guilty to one count of carrying weapons. She was recently sentenced to one year probation and fined $300.
